I'm below average, below ordinary, so I'm seldom appreciated or treated to big dining events. But don't get me wrong, I have no self-pity or insecurities. I just have the courage to accept reality as it is. But that doesn't mean I succumb to negative reality. I fight back in my own simple, quiet ways.
Anyway, the few instances when some kind-hearted individual gives me a treat, I so appreciate. Yup, I'm what others say is a "gifted" person. I get so many gifts from people, and often it's the only way I get to have anything for myself, and my family. Gifted. Sometimes it's a blessing, sometimes it doesn't seem so. I'll explain in another blog post.
Like how our school principal recently gave us a real lunch treat. After 3 hours of relaxing water spa, she treated us to a really big lunch. I mean, it was probably the most delicious lunch I've ever had in my life. Everything served was extraordinarily mouthwatering.
Let's start with the shabu-shabu...
What I loved about this is it's all-vegetable ingredient, being a vegetarian-pescetarian. What I especially love is the crunch pechay, mushroom sprouts and fresh sweet corn. Here's the ready shabu-shabu...
The shabu-shabu is already delicious. But putting some Satay Mix from Taiwan (said the waiter) gives it kinda like a Thai touch to it. See picture below.
We added one fresh egg to the broth for the extra richness. Well, this in itself was already a big treat for me, but I was surprised when the principal told us to order more! I was like, "Huh! I can't believe it!" So, I got a huge salmon grilled in butter (it was the most costly fish selection)...
And my wife got baby back ribs special...
And here are the other orders...tender loin with pasta underneath...
A ton load of noodles...
My mango shake
And a small blueberry cheese birthday cake for my son...
